We reached a major milestone in our odyssey when our driver delivered us to Ban Pong. It was 35 hours from saying goodbye to Kat at What Ranch (Sam drove us to the airport) until we were saying hello to Mom and Pappa.

It was not a stress free trip.

The folks at Korea airlines thought we didn't have the paperwork we needed to bring Wurstchen into the country. A call to the Thai Embassy convinced them otherwise.

We finally got on board only to sit for an hour waiting for connecting passengers. With a two hour connection in Seoul, we couldn't afford much more of a delay.

We made the connection only to be pulled off the flight because they discovered a suspicious package on the flight from Seattle. After an hour they let us back on the flight except for the six guys that had live ammunition in their checked luggage. After another half hour to get their luggage off of our plane, we were on our way.

I hadn't realized that Berkpai was itself a village (Tombone in Thai). We're having dinner at a seafood restaurant on the river just down the block from their house.

Here's how we looked shortly after boarding in Seattle.

This is us at the Bangkok airport after 20 hours of flying.

I was a wreck worrying about our pup in the cargo hold. He came through just fine. Here he is after 22 hours in his kennel.

The two men working that night at Thailand Animal Quarantine were extremely kind. We had to wait a bit while they helped another couple find pet friendly hotel to take their Corgis to. They got our pet import certificate ready and we were quickly on our way.

In this shot Mom is telling Barbara about a snake that crawled over their wall.

Barbara is responding "Are you taking about here?"
