Mom and Papa met us in Lampang for my birthday in February. When we were here, we met a woman who has a ceramic factory making rum pots. She hand painted this one to mostly Barbara's specification. Her variation was the alternating width of the lines. We approve!

This purchase was organized by Lorenza, our hostess and friend at the Riverside Guest House, which is always so beautiful and relaxing to visit.

In the evening we went to a Thai restaurant without an English name. It had a great view of the pedestrian bridge. There was live music, good food and an excellent bottle of wine.

We followed with a walk up the road to the Where Do We Go bar, where there was a DJ and draft Budweiser Beer.

At about $3.71 for a 16 Oz pour (260฿ for a liter), it is an exotic beer for a special occasion here.

The next stop was another restaurant with live music. We stopped in because we heard a nice Santana cover coming out of the place. It was a band of 4 old Thai guys who were very talented and tight together. I think they may have been doing this for a few years.

In the morning, I did some walking therapy on my slowly healing foot.

Breakfast was at a small coffee shop. It's what they call pan eggs with toast. It's got sliced hot dogs in it. The thick toast has the strawberry jam already spread on. The toast is pre-cut into squares and a skewer is provided.

Thailand has still not made any legislation concerning formerly illegal plants. In cities including Chiang Mai the stores are primarily focused on foreign tourists.

In Lampang there aren't so many tourists. This co-op of local growers is more the scene here from what we saw. The local grower on the right was putting their plants out for some morning sun.

I'll finish with a tour of Wat Chiang Rai. It is the White Temple of Lampang. There is a famous "White Temple" in the city of Chiang Rai.

"Some people find it confusing Wat Chiang Rai is a temple in Lampang. It probably is. Apparently, a member of the ruling family of Lampang constructed this temple and decided to call it Wat Chiang Rai because he was born in Chiang Rai. Unlike the famous Wat Rong Khun in Chiang Rai, Wat Chiang Rai is a real temple where monks reside. It is an interesting and beautiful temple. The building next to the Viharn contains statues of monks and is nicely decorated. Wat Chiang Rai is nicely illuminated after dark." - Chiang Mai Ala Cart
