Provisioning between the blizzards

It's four weeks until launch. We went up to our winter storage yard in Danville, New Hampshire to see how the boat was faring and to do some provisioning. We had a Nor'easter this week which brought a 6" snowfall and knocked down a lot of trees throughout New England. Lucky for us, she is stored in a utility right of way. It has high voltage transmission lines above but no trees to fall on us.

After shoveling a path to the door, we got her started for the first time since last November. It took a jump from the Santa Fe and a single shot of starter fluid. The Chevy big block 454 engine started up pretty as you please and purred like she was ready to roam right now. The generator hesitated just a moment but then joined the chorus. It was joyous music to our ears.

The furnace, A/C and plumbing all checked out. We have loaded about 1/3 of what we need for the trip. Babs just corrected me. She said it's more like 1/4 because we haven't loaded the alcohol yet.

Next week we are going to bring it down to our mechanic, Charlie, for new tires and final checkout. Between now and then, we're supposed to have our 3rd Nor'easter for the month with another foot of snow and 90 mph winds (Update: max winds forecast has dropped to 65 mph, but with 14+ inches of snow). Oh yeah, that's called a blizzard.

We have one more blizzard to get past and then spring will be here for sure.
