We made the difficult decision to scuttle Josephine after the bill to repair came in above what she was worth.

We loaded everything we could remove into our life raft.

It was not as comfortable as the RV.

But it was decorated with a scene from our destination. Hawai'i or bust!

Crossing the mighty Columbia at Vantage felt like coming into the home stretch. Help was in range.

Finally, our lifeboat arrived at Sam and Kat's place on the shores of Juan de Fuca. Our arrival was marked with the lowest tide of 2018.

Kat and Barbara name their way across the tide flats.

Boots are required to explore the tide pools. Barefoot was an option.

Barbara and Sam exploring the psuedomorph rocks that produce natural cannonballs.

In her final act of service, the "liferaft" hauled 900 lbs of metal to recycling.
